Mandaram Nuwara, also known as Mandaramnuwara, is a small village situated at the foot of Pidurutalagala in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. The town is also known colloquially as the ‘Misty City’ as it is shadowed by the adjoining mountain ranges and is shrouded in mist for the majority of the day.
The distance between Nuwara Eliya and Mandaramnuwara is 33 km. The road distance is 33.4 km.
This beautiful village is surrounded by misty mountains and waterfalls with a history which runs down to the era of King Ravana. The village is bounded from the west by Piduruthalagala and from the east by the Balagolla mountain ranges. It is a popular hiking area among both locals and foreigners.
